I have been abused by my x for years.  I was always told how useless I was from my father and mother.  Since as far as i can remember i was an outcast and the only attention I got was verbal and physical abuse.

I learned that the abuse is the love.  So in order for me to feel loved I had allowed myself to be abused by many men in my life.

I know I can not tell you to just leave your abusive situation.  I know those words a meaningless because you already know that you must leave.

I know the fear and pain that comes with trying to chose where to go and if I will ever be safe and what will my kids and I do for food and shelter.

As an abused person I know you also know that there are many places for abused women to go so I will not belittle you and tell you what everyone else tells you.

So what I say to you is that I have been there and understand.  I was fortunate enough to pull my stuff together and just leave.  It was not easy and it was scary as scary can get.  I discovered that once i was free I started to seek out the abusive relationships again.  I know I know, what a dummy.

After meeting other abused women and joining a support group I realized I was not alone in the way I felt about my self.  I learned that I do NOT have to own the bad names and the feelings of uselessness as being who I am.

I am free now and you can be too when you are ready. I hope you can find peace for you and your children.

Here are a few places i recommend.

1. HAWC Here you can find many resources National Domestic Violence Hotline
2. Nation Domestic Violence Hoteline - Here is their Number 1-800-799-SAFE (7233) or TTY 1-800-787-3224.

Love you all,  Alexandria
